Tourlane, a business which offers customers the expertise of travel agents combined with online booking, has raised $47 million in Series C funding. The round was led by Sequoia and Spark Capital and follows Tourlane’s Series B round of $24 million just five months ago. The Berlin-based startup helps customers to customize trips by connecting them to travel agents online. Tourlane has now raised more than $81 million and plans to use the funding for international expansion as well as product development. The company raised Series A funding of $8.5 million in March last year. Sequoia and Spark Capital had previously invested in the business. The company was founded in 2016 and has angel investors including Airbnb founder Nathan Blecharczyk, GetYourGuide founder Johannes Reck and Trivago’s founders. |
