Caissa Tourist, a tourism subsidiary of HNA Group, announced on December 13 that the company has decided to make a strategic investment in HuanTaoYou, a Beijing-based online platform connecting outbound tour suppliers and distributors. The deal will help Caissa speed up its consolidation of overseas tour resources by taking advantage of HuanTaoYou’s strength in connecting supply sides and demand sides for outbound tourism traffic.
HuanTaoYou was established in late 2014. The company’s service covers 263 cities in 41 countries around the world. The HuanTaoYou platform connects outbound travel suppliers and China’s domestic tour operators, offering travel contents including local cuisines, attraction tickets, recreation activities, transport, tours and alternative accommodation. Outbound suppliers such as ground handlers, hotels, restaurants, chauffeurs, attractions and tour guides are highly fragmented. It is a challenge for travel companies to effectively consolidate such resources. Caissa Tourist has been focusing on the outbound tour sector for more than 20 years. The company has set up tour-handling subsidiaries in various overseas destinations, including Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Paris, London and Los Angeles. The company has also partnered with over 700 tour operators in more than 100 outbound destinations. The consolidation of overseas travel resources enables Caissa to introduce more new offerings for individual holidays. Other than attraction admission, air tickets and hotel accommodation, the company has also rolled out integrated products such as ChengJiYou inter-city tour packages and outbound car-rental service.
